Last Updated: May 19th, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DemandMaven, Inc. (“DemandMaven,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website at demandmaven.io (the “Site”) or interact with us in connection with our consulting services.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review it periodically.
1. Who We Are
DemandMaven is a growth consultancy serving SaaS companies. We are the data controller for personal information collected through our Site and in connection with our consulting engagements.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you choose to share with us, including:
- Contact and inquiry information — your name, email address, company name, website URL, and any other details you include when you fill out our contact form, book a discovery call, or otherwise reach out to us
- Email subscription information — your name and email address when you subscribe to the DemandMaven blog or email list (managed through Kit, formerly ConvertKit)
- Communications — any messages or content you send to us directly
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type and device information
- Pages visited, time on page, and referring URLs
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5 below)
We use tools like Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to collect anonymized usage data. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and assess potential engagement fit
- Communicate with you about DemandMaven’s services, resources, and content (if you have subscribed or opted in)
- Send you emails, newsletters, or updates you’ve signed up to receive
- Improve the Site and understand how visitors engage with our content
- Comply with legal obligations and protect the integrity of our business
We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Residents)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for example, when you subscribe to our email list
- Legitimate interests — for example, to understand how visitors use our Site and to improve it
- Legal obligation — where required by applicable law
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
5. Cookies
Our Site uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — to improve your experience and analyze Site usage. Categories of cookies we use include:
- Essential cookies — necessary for the Site to function properly
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., Google Analytics)
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.
6. Research Participants
DemandMaven conducts qualitative research interviews and studies on behalf of clients as a core part of our consulting work. Research participants are a distinct category of individuals — separate from Site visitors, email subscribers, and clients — and we want to be transparent about how we handle their information.
Who this applies to. This section applies to anyone who participates in a research interview, usability study, or similar research activity facilitated by DemandMaven, whether recruited through User Interviews, Respondent.io, direct client outreach, or any other channel.
What we collect. During research sessions, we may collect your name, job title, company name, and contact information (typically provided through the recruitment platform); professional background and experience relevant to the research topic; opinions, experiences, and other information you choose to share during the session; and audio and/or video recordings and transcripts of the session, where consent has been obtained.
How we use it. Information collected during research sessions is used solely to conduct and analyze research in connection with a specific client engagement. It is not used to market to you, build advertising profiles, or inform any purpose unrelated to the specific project.
Consent to record. If a session will be recorded, you will be informed before it begins and asked to provide explicit consent. You may decline to be recorded; in such cases, we will take notes instead. Recordings and transcripts are used for internal analysis only and are not shared publicly.
How insights are shared with clients. In most cases, insights are aggregated and anonymized before being included in client deliverables. Individual quotes or attributed responses are only included when a participant has explicitly agreed to this.
Third-party recruitment platforms. When participants are recruited through User Interviews or Respondent.io, those platforms have their own privacy policies and consent flows that govern the initial collection of your information. DemandMaven receives only the information necessary to conduct the research session itself.
DemandMaven as a data processor. In many research engagements, DemandMaven acts on behalf of a client — meaning the client is the data controller for their own customers’ information, and DemandMaven is acting as a data processor. If a client has shared a list of their customers or users with us for recruiting purposes, that data is handled in accordance with our obligations to the client and is not used for any other purpose.
Retention and deletion. We retain research recordings, transcripts, and notes for the duration of the client engagement and for a reasonable period thereafter. If you participated in a research session and would like your personal information deleted, please contact us using the information in Section 14. We will honor deletion requests to the extent permitted by our obligations to the relevant client.
Your right to withdraw. You may withdraw from a research session at any time before it concludes. If you wish to withdraw after the session but before findings have been finalized, please contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to exclude your responses, though this may not always be possible depending on the stage of the project.
7. Third-Party Tools and Service Providers
We use a limited set of third-party tools to operate our Site and business. These providers may process personal information on our behalf:
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — email list management and newsletters
- HubSpot — contact management and CRM
- SavvyCal — scheduling and discovery call booking
- User Interviews / Respondent.io — participant recruitment for client research projects (used in connection with client engagements, not general Site use)
- Google Analytics — Site analytics
- Miro / Zoom / Loom — collaboration tools used in the delivery of consulting engagements
- Sleeknote — pop-up tool to promote offers on the website
These providers are contractually obligated to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our instructions. We do not authorize them to use your personal information for their own purposes.
8. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers — as described in Section 6 above, to operate our Site and business
- To comply with law — if required by a court order, legal process, or governmental authority
- To protect rights — if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of DemandMaven, our clients, or others
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information would transfer subject to the same protections
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to maintain business records, and to comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 10).
10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from our email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address listed in Section 14. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
EEA residents have rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
Our Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Third-Party Links
Our Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
